2018 PERMIT INFORMATION

The Louisville Dog Run Association's primary goal is to oversee the maintenance and continued improvement of dog parks in our community. Since the LDRA does not receive funds from any local or state governmental agency, all users of the dog parks are required to have official Dog Park Permits to use the areas. In addition, this ensures that all dogs using the dog parks are up to date on their vaccinations and have responsible owners who will abide by the rules, keeping our dog parks safe, healthy, and happy places to play.

The cost of the 2018 Dog Park Permit is $35.00 for the first dog, $25.00 for the second dog, $15.00 for the third dog, and $10.00 per additional dog in the same household. All funds from the sale of the Dog Park Permits will go towards the dog parks' maintenance and improvement costs. The permit will allow unlimited use of the dog parks through December 31, 2018.

You may apply for a permit by completing and submiting the permit application along with proof (photo copy) of each of your dog's rabies vaccination records to one of the Feeders Supply locations listed below. To get a copy of the dog park permit application in Adobe PDF format click here 2018 LDRA Application.pdf . If you have any questions please email us at info@louisvilledogs.com

You must review all of the Dog Park Rules, by which you are agreeing to abide, and the "Assumption of Risk and Release of Liability" and sign the form on this application.
Your application will not be processed if this form is not signed.
Make sure your proof of dog rabies vaccination(s) are attached.

Dog park permit applications must be submitted in person at the following Feeders Supply locations: You must bring all required materials with you to the store. You may want to call ahead to make sure permits have not sold out at that location, as we get further into the year. Please note that their store hours may vary seasonally.

Please remember that Feeders Supply is just offering you and the LDRA a service by selling our dog park permits. (100% of the fees are sent to the LDRA.)The rules and permit requirements are LDRA's and not Feeders Supply's, so please do not get upset with the store for enforcing them. Feeders Supply has the right to refuse to sell you a membership if you are not courteous.       If you have any questions about the rules and requirements, call LDRA at (502) 876-9416 or email us at info@louisvilledogs.com.

   FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. Do I have to sign up for each park? No, you have to choose a home park, which you plan to visit the most often, but you may visit all locations at any time.

2. How long will 2018 permits  be available? Permits are still available for all dog run locations which include: Sawyer, Champions, Cochran Hill, Old Louisville, Vettiner, The Barklands of Floyds Fork and Elizabeth Cleland Cauley Dog Park in Oldham County and Waverly Dog Run. The sooner you get your permit/membership, the better. We will notify you on the web site when they are sold out. We will also notify everyone by email, so please sign up to receive them.

3. If I had a dog park permit in 2017, do I have to provide vaccination information again? Yes.

4. What vaccinations are required? Rabies, but Parvo, Distemper and Kennel Cough (also known as Bordetella) are recommended. We also recommend your dog be on a flea and heartworm preventative, but this isn't required.

5. How long does it take for my application to be processed? Submit all required materials and completely fill out an application in person at one of the Feeders Supply locations listed above and you get your membership/permit instantly. Better yet, save time by completing and printing out your application ahead of time, so it will be ready to submit with all required materials when you arrive at Feeders Supply.

6. After I buy my membership, what next? How do I access entry and how do others know that I am a member and that my dog(s) have permits? When you buy your membership at Feeders Supply, you will receive a key fob for gate entry and LDRA Dog Park Permit tags for each of your dogs. The official dog park tag must be displayed on the dog(s) at all times or the dog is not to enter the park.

7. If I buy a 2018 permit now when does it expire?  It is valid through December 31st 2018, regardless of date of purchase. (Permits for the following year usually go on sale some time in the Fall. That following year's permit is valid immediatley and you won't have to wait until January to use it. Sign up to receive our emails and you'll be notified when they are available.)
